Living in the Mod Mod World

Here is an actually relevant outfit (from yesterday):

 Hat: thrifted gift from mah sista

Sunglasses: A.J.Morgan, bought at Boo Radley's

Dress: Ande Monster on Etsy

Belt: Ross

Fishnets: from my dance costume when I was like, 10...

Shoes: Torrid

 I followed the Mod Eye Makeup in Like Five Minutes tutorial by Hannah on Rookie (although I skipped the bottom lashes because I tried it and the one side I did sucked. Plus I had to leave my house). I TOTES RECOMMEND this tutorial, because it is easy and the results and freakin' awesome ^.^

This is one of my favorite outfits EVERRRRRRR. I felt so '60s and mod that I wanted to die and meet  Mary Quant OUTSIDE THE GATES OF HEAVEN (if you catch my drift, I love that song).

In other news, I took down this Harry Potter poster I had that was really lame (because I took it from some lame magazine, and it was all really lame). 

I switched it with some stunning photos of Audrey from last year's calender: 

 They look so nice and they are a great switch.

Here is my Vickie (read the previous post, y'all) inspired outfit (using only things I had on hand), the day after I watched Reality Bites and was still freaking out over how I was laughing alone at night while watching that movie (something I only do when watching The Facts of Life).

I found the bowling shirt that you can't really see in the first two pictures at the ~*****Thrift Store****** ~. It is one of the best purchases ever. I call it "Petey", and it is my BABY.

This summer has been crazy amazing, and there is soooo much to write about, so I'll take it post by post, y'all.
First, though...
I SAW Reality Bites.
OH MY GOD.
Yahhhh, it's kind of like one of the best movies ever. I love the feeling, the fashion, the '90s-ness, Lelaina, Troy, Sammy, VICIKIE!
Can we just ogle at the cast? Ethan Hawke, Winona Ryder, I ALMOST PEED MYSELF.
And, OHEMGEE, VICKIE!
I want to be Vickie. SHE IS SO DANG COOL. Seriously, where did she learn to be that cool? (the script writers, I know).
She is influencing my style in EEVVVVEERRYY way, and so everything she wears is making my birthday list.
AND SHE LOVE'S THE '70s.
AND SHE LOVES "My Sharona".

I will be getting those tights. And those shoes. And those glasses. And those...

Now I love Squeeze.

I DIDN'T EVEN REALIZE SHE WEARS THIS DRESS. OHEMGEEEEEEEEE, HOW DID I NOT KNOW THIS???

Adventures in Eye Make-Up

HAI, blogosphere.
Today I'm going out (as in outside my home), so I decided to try YA KNOW a new eyeliner look.
I made the (dreadful) mistake of just trying to do an all around eyeliner thing. It sucked. I ended up scrubbing away at the bottom of my eye, trying to get it off. I realllly need to buy some of those fancy make-up scrubber pad things. My eyes will thank me.
Anyways, after I had fairly well removed said bottom eyeliner (which, by the way, had gotten ALL over my face), I tried just doing my normal cat-eye deal.
I threw the Rookie tutorial to the wind (which I really shouldn't have, because I tried it and it was AWESOME), and I achieved a fairly okay look. Heavier than I usually do, but still, fairly okay.
It sort of reminds me of Tavi's, which is what I was totes going for (because I aim to be like Tavi in every aspect of my life).

Tavi's eyes are, like, 400x bigger than mine (which changes it UP), so...
Here's my result.

And...

I took this one because I luhhhhh looking at people's eyeliner from this angle...

So, I'll probably throw some blue eyeshadow on that beezy, and hope for the best.
